Shamanic Journey Workshop Shamanic practitioners work with spirit to heal illness at the soul level. The shaman's practice is to reach an altered state of consciousness through rattling and drumming to restore spiritual health and power. Participants will be led into the ecstatic state referred to as the shamanic journey. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their alliance with their own healing and compassionate spirits and guides and connect with the Light that shines within each of us. Our journey will take us to a sacred waterfall where we engage in a remarkable visionary method of healing and divination. The evening will end with a group journey called a Spirit Canoe: a healing ritual common to a number of shamanic cultures throughout the world, including Salish communities of the Pacific Northwest United States. Participants will sit shoulder to shoulder in the shape of the canoe and act as oarsmen. At the end of the canoe will be the drummer who navigates the canoe through the spirit world as the shamanic practitioner lies in the center with a volunteer. Healing will come for this individual by retrieval of his/her power animal. Once the power animal is recovered the drummer will change the beat alerting the oarsmen to change direction and lead the spirit canoe back to this world. This evening promises to be a remarkable journey of self-expansion and inner-harmony. If time permits we will conduct more than one Spirit Canoe. Please bring eye cover and blanket for this event | |
